ICAO
I am still working on this one. Thing is that my previous site was written in asp(vb) and now I am trying to get stuff ported to mysql and php. A daunting task to say the least I think I have managed to get some progress. First I tried to export the data from this base (Access) over to my mySQL base and make a php connection to it. Then I stumbeled over the difficulties to get that php in a separate page here in WP. Final idea was to make a simple form on a normal WP page and do the ‘action’ in it to an ASP-page which in turn would deliver my data in a new window. And so it was done.
. It ain’t over till the fat lady sings I believe…. Keep coming back for progress. Thanks.
Here aviation and flightsim enthousiasts can search for that description of an ICAO or IATA code to make their flightplans with. Sometime I also use it to decipher those airport tags on my luggage. See for yourself it’s fun. The base now has 13000+ records in it and I still have to maintain it in order to be up to date.
- ICAO-code: (max.= 4 chr)
- IATA-code: (max.= 3 chr)
- Airport-name: (nolimits)
Enter a ICAO, IATA indicator or search for an airfield/airport name, for example: EHAM, KNIP, NFL, Fallon, etc. Partial entries are allowed, wildcards (%) are allowed. Search is not case sensitive, so ‘eham’ and ‘EHAM’ will give the same result. Results will be displayed either in order of ICAO indicator or airfield name if searched for an airfield name. You can further enhance your query results by sorting on one of the columns just by clicking on the column-header.
